Catfish Fry at Legion

 

     The Lost Nation Legion Post #381 held their semi-annual catfish fry Friday, September 28 at the Legion Hall.  The menu included catfish, baked potato, green beans, cole slaw, rolls and coffee. The next catfish fry will be held in March 2013.

Legion serves breakfast

 

     More than 200 guests enjoyed the All-You-Care-To-Eat breakfast served at the Legion Hall on Sunday, October 14.

The menu included pancakes, French toast, eggs, hash browns, sausage and gravy, orange juice and coffee.

     The members of the Legion Auxiliary sponsored a bake sale from 9-noon.  Profits from the sale will be used for local projects.

     The next breakfast and bake sale  is Sunday, November 11.
Veteran's Day Breakfast held at Legion
 
     Over 200 guest enjoyed the all you care to eat breakfast served in the Legion Hall Sunday, November 11th.  The menu included eggs to order, pancakes, French toast, sausage, hashbrowns, biscuits, sausage and gravy.  The next breakfast will be Sunday December 9th.
     The Legion Auxiliary held a bake sale and took orders for locally made wreaths, swags and garlands at the Legion Hall.  Their next bake sale is January 13th 2013.
Veteran's Day Soup Supper
 
     Legion Post 381 held a soup supper on Veteran's Day at the Legion Hall.  Chili and oyster stew was served.  Erin Dickman reported on her Girl's Sate experience last summer, and Ben Geerts told the group about Boy's State held at Camp Dodge.
Legionnaire of the Year
 
     Lost Nation's Legion Post 381 announced the David Burmeister was the Legionnaire of the year for 2012.  Burmeister has served as commander, written grants and organized functions and events for the community.  He is a longtime resident of Lost Nation and an Air Force veteran.
