Iowa Firefighters Memorial
The Iowa Firefighters Memorial is a tribute to all Iowa firefighters past, present and future. It is located just off Interstate 80 on Exit 242 near Coralville. The Iowa Firefighters Memorial Committee commissioned a bronze memorial statue in 1990. The Committee chose Coralville in 1992 for the Memorial's location. It had a scenic hilltop location, easy access off I-80, a visitor center and park like atmosphere. It is open 365 days a year, close to hotels and restaurants and has the commitment of Coralville/Iowa City leaders to create and perpetually care for the site. The Memorial Park was dedicated April 10, 1994.For more information about the Memorial go to www.iowafirememorial.org
